Push Through the Pain
My girl and I split this past week.
The girl I was with for almost 4 years who knew virtually everything about me. The girl I had some of my savings earmarked for the best ring I could afford.
…does it hurt…?
More than I could’ve imagined.
I’ll spare you the details of the tears shed, journal entries written, and conversations had.
And by no means is this a pity party or an ask to reach out and check on me. No.
It’s to serve as a reminder that the world doesn’t stop for anyone.
The top 1% of athletes, businessmen, artists, musicians, etc. are dealing with tragedies and struggles constantly.
But what sets them apart from the other 99%? The will to wake up, look in the mirror, and despite the heartache, pain, old memories, and confusion clouding their minds — they still execute day in and day out.
I’ve had my fair share of days where I just wanted to lay around, watch Succession, eat shit food, cry, and maybe even have a couple bourbons to take the edge off.
But who wins in that battle? No one.
My battle is won when I bring new deals to the table at work, when I set new PR’s in training, when I create a piece of content that builds this community or grows my audience, when I receive a DM from a young athlete telling me how much I inspire them, or when I cross a goal off of my board that’s been staring me down all of 2023.
It’s the unwavering discipline I’ve spent my short life building and maintaining that matters most to me. I’ve seen tragedies, injuries, heartbreaks, and catastrophes that should keep a young man at bay.
But I refuse to stay on the ground…even when it seems impossible to move on.
So, whatever your struggle may be today (and I know we all have them), ask yourself, “How can I win this battle? What can I do to push closer to my goals?”
The world doesn’t care how much of a shit day, week, month, or year it’s been for you. The world rewards work, discipline, and curiosity.
So, cheers to our goals mates. And if you need someone to talk through your struggles with, I’m here for you. Chances are, I can relate. Send me a message and we can talk together about how to push through the pain <3
I love y’all — let’s use these experiences, stay disciplined, and keep building. Life’s too short to wallow in the struggle.
