Habits Stack Up
Keep it simple
Recently, I was speaking with a very successful banker at one of the largest institutions in the world. We were chatting about where I want to take my personal brand and what I want to be known for.
I told him that my main goal is to communicate that you can pursue the career of your dreams AND stay in peak shape. I come in contact with too many people who pursue their career and completely drop their health & fitness habits.
Yes, it’s hard…but so is being out of shape. You lack energy, confidence, and clarity when you let yourself go. It leaks into all other areas of your life.
I told him that I’m working to set the example. I work in a competitive professional services industry, train for the pole vault, and try to give inspiration and help where I can. I want to create a greater sense of belief that everyone can do this…it just takes discipline and consistency.
The banker shared with me that every C-suite executive or person in leadership he has come into contact with is a health & fitness fanatic. They prioritize their health over everything because they understand that is the foundation to success.
If these highly successful individuals build their routines with health & fitness being a priority, shouldn’t we take notes?
I truly believe everyone should have continuous health & fitness goals. They should shift with our life seasons, but they should always be the priority.
And how do we achieve these goals? HABITS.
We all have big goals heading into 2024…net worth, relationships, career, health & fitness, etc. Moving into the new year, I will be taking on a few clients for personal training. If you’re looking to gain some muscle, drop a few pounds, or just build a lasting health & fitness lifestyle moving into the new year, sign up for a free consultation call below. Let’s see if we can work together!
To me, there is no downside to building your health & fitness habits. You improve your longevity, gain clarity, our peers respect us more, and you have a greater understanding of discipline and grit.
I wanted to give you some actionable steps to start with when working to improve your health & fitness habits. If you can commit to doing these for just 2 weeks, you’ll gain a greater self-confidence, you’ll start to rid your brain fog, and may even start to see some physique changes.
2-Week Challenge
7-8 Hours of Sleep / Night
100 Ounces of Water / Day
Pack Your Lunch (Don’t Go Out)
Strength train 3x / week
Cardio sessions 2x / week
Say No to the Workplace Snacks
Limit to 1 Alcoholic Beverage / Day
Seems easy enough, right? Super simple? Exactly.
The challenge is hitting these habits day in and day out without fail. They’re easy habits, I know, so feel free to alter as you wish to make them more challenging.
The goal here is to stick to something and prove to yourself you can hit new habits that, if performed consistently, will add up to something great.
Once you can hit these without fail, you’ll be on your way to joining those highly successful individuals in the near future. It seems easy…but the key is consistency. So let’s build some new habits 😄
