Your 20's Matter

So build your body

“You have only one mind and one body for the rest of your life. If you aren’t taking care of them when you’re young, it’s like leaving that car out in hailstorms and letting rust eat away at it. If you don’t take care of your mind and body now, by the time you’re 40 or 50, you’ll be like a car that can’t go anywhere.”

This quote has stuck with me for years…you know who said it? Warren Buffett.

Even the man whose life seems to completely revolve around money understands the importance of building your body throughout your life. The man who is worth $120B preaches that we only get one body, and we shouldn’t take it for granted.

My personal brand has brought me opportunities, connections, and deals I never imagined possible. I wanted to help a wider range of people reap the same benefits, so I put together a kit covering everything I’ve learned in building my personal brand. Check it out if you’re looking to grow your influence! Now let’s get back to this lesson :)

I believe the main priority of your 20’s should be building a body you can be proud of. The benefits of getting fit and staying fit far outweigh the comfort of skipping your training…I promise.

Benefit #1: Mental Clarity

By exercising your body often, you will reap the benefits for all other endeavors in your life. By moving your body, you will enjoy:

  • Increased blood flow to the brain

  • Release of neurochemicals (endorphins, serotonin, dopamine)

  • Reduction of stress hormones

  • Improved sleep quality

  • Promotion of neuroplasticity

  • Stress reduction

  • Enhanced mood

  • Increased brain volume

  • Improved focus

Think about the best you’ve ever felt in your life…now imagine that feeling on almost every day of your life. Exercise is a miracle drug and is a prerequisite to becoming a high performer in anything you do.

Benefit #2: Instant Respect

When you’re a fit individual, you gain a certain amount of respect when you walk in the room. Your appearance inherently communicates discipline, grit, delayed gratification, and many other traits.

And when you gain this respect, you’ll carry yourself differently. The confidence you gain by knowing you’ve done the work to build yourself is unmatched. You take this confidence in everything you do.

How would your performance change in your work with this newfound confidence and respect?

Benefit #3: Life Lessons to be Learned

I think athletics and training has taught me more about life and what it takes to succeed more than anything else I’ve ever done.

The lessons of pushing your limits, getting out of your comfort zone, performing when the lights come on, staying disciplined, executing, having a plan, etc. etc. etc.

It all adds up and will teach you more about your life than anything else.

So, heading into the new year, will you build your body? Will you begin to reap the rewards the getting fit? Will you learn these life lessons? Because I think everyone deserves to enjoy these benefits 😁 Just need to start!

So, here’s to building our bodies in 2024! We got this.
